CID2 Poverty

CID poverty
Singapore is one of the highest income country in the world, and yet, in 2013, Singapore has one of the highest poverty rate of 26%. Poverty rate is based on low income ranging from $1000-$1500.

We think that this statistics is shocking because it is contradictory to what we think of Singapore's poverty rate. In our daily lives, we hardly see examples of Singapore residents being in poverty. In Singapore, there are various organizations set up to help people out of poverty, and when we are doing community work, we are helping those people in need improve their lives.

The picture depicts the situation they are in, where they are alone to try and improve their lives but no one extends a helping hand to them. It makes us reflect on the point if we really help them?
This picture is extremely saddening as it shows how an elderly woman has no shelter. Imagine about you being without decent living conditions. You cant imagine that right? Thats because we all live a blessed life with shelter, food, education and clothes. These are all provided by our loving parents who work tirelessly everyday to provide us with our current living conditions which u dare say is considered very good compare to thousand or even millions of others around the globe. Be thankful of what you have while you strive to achieve those that you dont have with your best of abilities.
